REMIND ME WHY I AM SUPPOSSED TO STAND WITH UKRAINE AGAIN?
Remind me why I am supposed to support Ukraine again? Oh right, it’s because Ukraine is fighting to save democracy and freedom. I almost forgot that was what I was told to think. That is why we should all pay higher gas too. It’s a small price to pay for Democracy. Russians hate Democracy, and all Russians are all evil. They are so evil they don’t deserve to watch Netflix and eat McDonalds, which is why Netflix and McDonalds pulled out of Russia. Same goes for IKEA. Evil people don’t deserve affordable furniture either, just like they don’t deserve to be able to watch season 3 of Stranger Things or eat Chicken McNuggets. We must support Ukraine because the Russian invasion of Ukraine is as simple as good versus evil and we must root for the good guys. It is a storyline out of a 1980’s wrestling match between Hulk Hogan and Nikkoli Volkoff. There is no room for nuance or critical thinking about the situation Ukraine. Period. If there was, we might forget why we are supposed to support it like I did.
You need to ignore how Ukraine has a corrupt quasi-democracy and is almost the mirror image of Russia’s only with Western influence instead of influence from Russia. At least that is what I read in the Washington Post and New York Times . Now that they were invaded by the villainous Russians, you must forget anything you read about Ukrainian corruption. If you repeat anything about Ukrainian corruption you read in any mainstream media outlets you are spreading disinformation because now Ukraine is a model Democracy. It is a system of government that all governments should strive for, unlike last year when it was corrupt. Now they are the oppressed and Russia is the oppressor, and the oppressed are always virtuous.
Never mind that a corrupt oil company named Burisma admitted in court to giving Joe and Hunter Biden a 900,000 dollar bribe, and never mind that there was a 6 million dollar bribe in cash seized to stop the Ukraine probe into the president of Burisma, the oil company where Hunter Biden was given a position on the board of Directors in 2014 when his father was the Vice President and the main figure in foreign relations with Ukraine. And disregard the really murky waters where former Ukrainian prosecutor-general Viktor Shokin alleged that he was pushed out by Joe Biden’s delaying of a $1 billion loan to the country to prevent him from investigating Hunter Biden’s role at Burisma. Joe Biden didn’t deny doing that. He said he pushed for Shokin’s dismissal to encourage Ukraine’s anti-corruption efforts, which was a lie obviously. Withholding aide to coerce a government to do your bidding, isn’t that what Donald Trump’s 2nd impeachment was for? Joe Biden later bragged about withholding the one billion dollars in aide until the prosecutor was fired. Other than all that stuff, Ukraine is a pristine Democracy.
Then there is the international hero, Vladimir Zelenski, the current president of Ukraine. His entire presidential campaign was funded by a billionaire oligarch named Ihor Kolomoisky, and his presidency was leaning toward authoritarianism more and more each day leading up to the war. Prior to being declared an international hero and sex symbol, his approval rating was below 20%. That is largely because he campaigned to stop the corruption in Ukraine, only to have secret secret off-shore accounts of his own just like all of the oligarchs he pledged to fight. He was no different.
Within months of the election, on December 20th, 2019, Ukrainian law enforcement raided Zelensky’s political opponent and previous Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko’s, party headquarters and gym on the orders of President Zelensky. The raid was intended to eliminate any possible influence of Poroshenko going forward. He also imprisoned the leader of the opposition Viktor V. Medvedchuk, who was the People’s Deputy of Ukraine and also had ties to Putin.
This act of autocratic aggression puzzled even Zelensy’s supporters, and it was a move that poked the Russian bear and mobilized Russia to the imminent invasion. Most recently he nationalized all media and television to created “Unified Information.” In other words, Ukraine now only allows state sanctioned propaganda some of which is video game footage passed off as Ukrainian war efforts. This media control is similar to China and North Korea media only it’s way more Democratic obviously.
As thousands of Ukrainian women and children are killed and Ukrainian cities are being obliterated by Russian shelling, instead of giving the Russians an exit ramp and pledging neutrality in order to save the lives of his people, he banned 11 political parties including Platform for Life, which is Ukraine’s largest opposition party currently holding 44 seats in parliament. Viktor Medvedchuk is the one who was accused of treason and placed under house arrest by Zelensky and also has ties to Russia. Nothing is more democratic than censorship and banning political opponents. Just ask Vladimir Putin.
Do you think banning political opponents will lead to a Russian ceasefire or peace talks, or do you think it will it lead to more shelling and intensified bombings as he pushes Putin further away from thinking an agreement is in sight? If you think it will lead to more shelling and more Ukranian deaths, then you hate Democracy and you are spreading Russian disinformation. Then he is also pleading with NATO and Western allies to create a no-fly zone and shoot down Russian planes. Under Title 5 of the NATO Treaty that would escalate to a potential World War III. I’ll be honest. I always pictured World War III starting out as a zombie apocalypse or maybe an alien invasion. Never in a million years did I think World War III would start over shitty Ukraine, but if it has to happen so be. For Democracy.
Does the Ukrainian government sound all too familiar? No, I’m not talking about the dystopian hellscape created the Biden administration in America. It sounds very similar to the political landscape and ideology of the bad guys. I’m talking about Russia. Zelensky is willing to sacrifice Ukraine women and children at the hands of the Russian onslaught and refuse to meet Russia in the middle to preserve his own power. That total disregard for human life for a power grab kind of sounds alot like Vladamir Putin. That is because Russia and Ukraine are both byproducts of the former Soviet Union philosophy, the state above all else. Our intervention isn’t saving Ukraine from tyrannical government and authoritarian rule. Russian rule and Ukrainian rule are six of one half-dozen of another. The differences are so small that it is not worth the fight.
In fact, the separation between Russia and Ukraine is so muddled that parts of Ukraine or Russian separatist states. Moscow-backed separatists have controlled the southeastern Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, known collectively as Donbas, for almost eight years, which Putin recognized in February and used as a pretext for war.
If you look at the graph below you will see how similar Ukraine and Russia are. In 2020 the corruption index for Russia was only slightly higher than that of Ukraine’s. My point is that when you hear Joe Biden, the mainstream media, and the blue checks on Twitter all saying that we need to fight for Ukrainian Democracy, they are lying. That is simply not the case.
I am not saying that the war in the Ukraine is not tragic, and it is not a humanitarian crisis. I am not saying that Vladimir Putin is not a bad actor with bad intentions either. I am just saying that when our leaders in Washington say that we must fight to save Democracy in Ukraine, they are lying to us. The Democracy in the Ukraine iis hardly worth saving. It mirrors Russia’s so-called Democracy.
So, what is the real reason the mainstream media and Washington all want us to believe we have a moral obligation to save a fake Democracy in a poor, corrupt, unstable country that is barley 30 years old? The answer is what it’s always been. Money.
The United States wants us to support Ukraine so they could justify sending military aid and lining the pockets of the military industrial complex. It’s also a nice diversion from inflation, open borders, the Afghanistan crisis, and every other failure of this administration leading up to mid-term election. And who doesn’t love a good war time president. Zelensky’s approval rating went to almost 90% during the war from 20% prior. Even George Bush’s approval rating went up to 93% after he bombed the shit out of Baghdad in 1993. Politically, there is only upside to war if you are a president, unless your Joe Biden. His approval rating is still stuck in the low 40s.
The deep state used COVID-19 to line the pockets of big pharma. Now they are using the war in Ukraine to fund the military industrial complex. All of the people in charge who support this war have something to gain from it. U.S. Defense Secretary, Lloyd Austin is pushing for war because he can profit from war. He sat on the board of directors at Raytheon and now we are involved in a major conflict with funding for that war effort going directly to Raytheon as their stock soared 14.5% since the initial invasion. Don’t be confused. That is not a conflict of interest. That is Democracy.
Like sheep we are all told to stand behind Ukraine and believe it is for some moral reason. That way the people in charge can justify lining the pockets of the industrial war complex with your tax dollars. If they can convince you to support the war, then they are still leading through the will of the people, and that maintains the illusion of democracy.
That is why they push for such a simplistic good versus evil narrative. If you disagree with their war efforts, and you don’t want your tax dollars going to companies like Raytheon then you are siding with the villain, and no one wants to be the villain. Probably not even Vladimir Putin. They want you to believe that not supporting a war in Ukraine is un-American. It is your patriotic duty to agree with the United States inserting itself into other countries disputes that don’t concern us. If not, then it is treason. However, it is not your patriotic duty to stand during the National Anthem.
The U.S. wanted a war in Ukraine since my kids were in toddlers, and they finally got their wish. In 2014 the Obama administration supported a violent and bloody coup to remove Viktor Yanukovych who had been duly elected in balloting that international observers considered reasonably free and fair election. That means that our leaders believe that violent insurrections area a crucial part of preserving Democracy, just as long as it’s not directed at them when they are in office. In that case they never shut the fuck up about it just like January 6th.
Here is what led to the Ukrainian Insurrection. In 2013, Yanukovych rejected the European Union’s terms for an association agreement in in favor of a Russian offer. This led to protests and demonstrations across Europe. Western leaders made it clear that they supported the efforts of demonstrators to force Yanukovych to reverse course and approve the EU agreement. If he would not do so, he would be removed as the president before his term expired. Threating a duly elected official with a coup might sound unethical and wrong but trust me, it is all Democracy.
The extent of the United States meddling in Ukraine’s politics was remarkable. Victoria Nuland was U.S. President Barack Obama’s central agent overseeing the coup. Nuland was the lead U.S. point person for the Revolution of Dignity, establishing loan to Ukraine, including a $1 billion loan guarantee in 2014. That is same billion dollars that Joe Biden said Ukraine wouldn’t get if the prosecutor investigating Hunter Biden’s Burisma wasn’t fired. Wait a minute, if those billion dollars was meant to fund revolutionaries who want to overthrow the government, then why was Biden withholding it to fire a prosecutor investigating his son’s corrupt gas company, Burisma. Oh right, it was because of Democracy. I almost forgot.
Nuland and the United States played not only a crucial role in overthrowing the existing Ukrainian Government, but in selecting and installing its rabidly anti-Russian replacement.
The U.S‑favored candidate was Arseniy Yatsenyuk, On February 4, 2014, a recording of a phone call between Nuland and U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, on January 28, 2014, was published on YouTube. In their phone conversation, Nuland notified Pyatt that after the review of the three opposition candidates for the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine, the US State Department had selected Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
How exactly does Victoria Nuland and the U.S. Department of State get to decide who is president of Ukraine if Ukraine is supposed to be its own nation and a Democracy? Never mind, don’t ask that question unless you love Vladamir Putin. If you think the U.S. wanted to setup a puppet state similar to Putin’s puppet states in Transnistria, South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Donetsk and Luhansk, then you are clearly a Putin puppet and spreading disinformation.
This Western influence for regime change and to overthrow democracy generated the ‘new Cold War’ with increasing economic sanctions and NATO buildup on Russia’s borders. That is why this moment is so historically important. This series of events would eventually set the backdrop to the Ukrainian invasion and potentially the start of World War III. Of course, all of this was scheduled to happen in 2016 when Hilary Clinton was supposed to win the election. But it was foiled by Donald Trump with his diplomatic approach to foreign policy. He was the first President since Jimmy Carter to not get the United States involved in any new wars. I can’t help but think that this is why the traditional politicians in Washington really hated Donald Trump and not so much because of his mean Tweets.
Luckily for us , Victora Nuland and the “adults are all back in charge and fighting for Democracy all over the world. It wasn’t hard to start the war in Ukraine. All we had to trick Putin and Zelensky into thinking we were actually going to let them in NATO. That convinced Ukraine they actually had a chance win a war against Russia and emboldened Putin enough to invade. The trap was set and Putin took the bait, hook line and sinker. We finally got the war we wanted since 2014.
Of course, the U.S. refuses to put a boot on the ground, nor will they implement a no-fly zone. That is because they don’t want a hot war with Russia. They simply want to fund a proxy war so they could funnel tax dollars to the military industrial complex through Ukraine. It’s like a money laundering scheme. That is why we are sending the Ukraine weapons and artillery, lots and lots of weapons and artillery. They are sending them enough weapons not to win, but just enough to keep on fighting. This war will lead to lots of civilian causalities, destruction, and ruiin, but also lots of expensive artillery and military equipment. All of those civilian causalities are all worth it if it saves Democracy. At least that is what I was told to think on MSNBC.
You’re not supposed to notice that since Joe Biden took office, Northrop Grumman stocks rose 27%. Lockheed Martin is up 21% since December. Raytheon is up 14.5% since this time last year, and General Dynamics is up an impressive 36% during the Biden administration. That is just a coincidence and probably just more Russian Propaganda.
Maybe I am completely wrong. Maybe I am being too cynical and there is no conspiracy theory. Perhaps this proxy war wasn’t intentionally started by the deep state to funnel money into the military industrial complex. Maybe the people in charge are just that stupid. When you fuck things up as bad and as often as the Biden Administration, sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between incompetence and malice.
